Utpal by Mr. Ganesh Mhatre : Konkan’s Serene Beauty to Impressionistic Palette Knife Masterpieces

Art is a powerful form of expression that allows individuals to convey their thoughts, memories, and emotions through various mediums. Growing up in the Konkan region, Mr. Ganesh Mhatre was surrounded by the serene beauty of nature left an indelible mark on his heart.

It was during his formative years that he developed a love for gazing at water reflections and observing the transformation of a beautiful lotus growing amidst the muddy pond waters. When he completed his art education, these childhood experiences and his profound connection with his surroundings would later become the driving force behind his artistic journey.

During his art education, he delved into the works of the legendary French Impressionist painter Claude Monet and got highly influenced by Monet’s ability to depict the play of light and the ephemeral nature of landscapes. Ganesh wanted to create an identity for himself he chose to work with palette knife painting, a technique also known as impasto. His preferred medium is acrylic on canvas.

He is a versatile artist and a prime example of someone who has not only mastered the art of painting but has also excelled in the roles of a writer and art director.
