Asmita Vishwajit Dabholkar At Chitrangana Art Exhibition (5th -11th March 2019), Nehru Centre Art Gallery, Mumbai
Ms. Ashmita’s is a professional artist who started her work after a gap of 12 years after defeating cancer. She showcased two artworks namely “Sarasoti” and Internal Power”.
Through her painting named “Internal Power” she pays tribute to the motherhood. Every mother possesses two inherent qualities ‘Tolerance and Compassion’. Asmita has used two stylised woman’s face in blue and white but only two hand holding a new born baby with a lotus flower like warmth. A mother (the artist refers as ‘Adi-shakti’) goes through many difficult phases in her life-cycle and the same feelings is beautifully depicted by the artist in her work. The composition are well balanced and full of sensibilities when it comes to artistic expression.
Her “Sarasoti” artwork is inspired by the Goddess of Wisdom – “Sarshwati”
