Media advisory – Environment and Climate Change Canada to hold media availability on results from Rapid Extreme Weather Event Attribution system
GATINEAU, QC, July 8, 2024 /CNW/ – Media representatives are advised that Environment and Climate Change Canada will hold a media availability to release recent results generated by its new Rapid Extreme Weather Event Attribution system. Using this new system, they have analyzed the heat wave that took place during the week of June 17 in Ontario, Quebec, and the Atlantic Provinces. The rapid attribution results will show the degree to which human-caused climate change affected the likelihood of this specific heat wave.
Scientists specializing in climate research and meteorologists will be briefing and addressing questions.
The media availability will be held via Zoom. Following the briefing, media will have the opportunity to ask questions.
